Updating | June {Utah Stuff}

These are just some pictures we took the Sunday after Ky’s Baptism.  I was supposed to have June posted last week, but can I just say…if I thought I had a lot of pictures from  May….nuh uh.  TONZ more for June.  Sheesh.
  June 2013

Celebrating the June Birthday’s at Grandma’s.  Monthly they have a Family Party for all the birthdays’ that month.  We don’t get to participate very often so this was fun!

June 20131

My niece had her Dance recital and the next night my nephew had his Karate Demonstration.  So fun to see our cousins!

June 20132

Okay, I hope this works.  Janine put together a birthday party for our three kids that had birthdays close together.  It was definitely a party to remember.  We rented a large water slide bounce house, Janine and BEcca made amazing cakes and I had a photo booth set up.  It was a blast!!!  I had way too many fun pictures so I put them in a slide show.  Here's to hoping it will post.

Father Day | Family Time

Since we were traveling in Utah for Ky’s birthday, he had to wait to get his ‘big’ birthday gift.  I think the pictures speak for themselves…..later that Day Duck took Ky out golfing. He. Loved. It.

 June 20133

That morning though, we took the whole family up to the Praise in the Park. It’s a large event that a local church puts on yearly.  They have all kinds of free events, and booths that people set up for all kinds of reasons.  The kids’ fav part was by far the bouncy house, but the Ambulance and Emergency Helicopter sure came in a close 2nd!

June 20134

They had princes and knights, dressing the kids up, telling stories and taking pictures of kids in this beautiful carriage.  (top right images are the kids getting tatoo’s)

June 20135

The next day was Fathers Day!  We love Fathers Day,  Mothers Day,  and birthdays around here. Any excuse for the kids to scrounge the house for things to wrap up as gifts is a hit.  We also worked together to make Dad a special gift to wear at church.

June 20137

Tie tacs, with pictures of his very own beloved children.  We made them with Shrinky Dinks and after a few tries we finally got the hang of it and made them work!  Let’s just say, he had a tie full.  We also made tie tacs for the kids. A pic of Duck’s head that said the Best Dad EVER.  Lol, it was a bit of a humorous picture, the kids got a kick out of it.  Below are the images we used on their tie tacs for dad.

Dad’s choice for Dessert.  Emma…yeah. She loved it.  I think I have about 30 pictures of her eating her pie. She cracks me up.

An attempt at catching up! {MAY}

(gotta warn ya now...I made the mistake and downsized my files too much, so my quality here is kinda crappy dang it!)

I’m going to TRY to play a little catch up on the blog. With my new calling taking me away more on Sunday’s, all the traveling, and then a deal I made with Duck to only do this while the kids were sleeping….it’s been nearly impossible to keep up.  NOt to mention, you do all the fun things we do, take a bazillion pictures….how IS is possible? Well, I’m going to try to make it so, I just might have to find a different way to do it.

This last Spring Kyson played Baseball.  He LOVED it! And from what I heard, he was a pretty good hitter. But we’ve learned he has a bit of stage fright and kinda clams up a bit during games.

(the dirt picture is what the little ones do during games….get dirty!)

 May 2013

As Ky was busy with Baseball, Maliyah tried Soccer for her first time and really liked it!  She was really nervous about all the running, but she quickly learned it’s a lot more fun to run when there is purpose and you are with friends!  She was a great cheerleader from the sides when she wasn’t playing.  She even once got a little carried away and stepped into the game!

A yearly tradition that we have developed, is a girls night with our good friends while the guys go to the Father Son CAmpout.  We switch who hosts it each year. Last year was at our house, so this year we slept over at The DAvis house!  Raegan had it all planned out, the girls were going to play pioneer, dress up, do everythign outside, without shoes and sleep under the stars. They did nearly all that too!  I enjoyed their beautiful backyard and taking a million pictures.

May 2013 (2)

Maliyah loves their house cause they have animals!

May 2013 (3)

Comment from the girls when they saw the rabbits (pictured below):  “Look! They are trying to keep each other warm!”  Yup girls, keep thinking that.  The best part is they are both male.

May 2013 (4)

Emma was crazy in love with the animals too.  At one point the two cats were sitting in the yard about 10 ft away from eachother. She would pet one, then walk over and pet the next and then go back and forth until finally one of them went away.

The kids started their own fire, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and just had a blast!

OH yeah, and the little girls were inside playing game.  Nanna and Jilli are just the best of friends.  The picture of Jilli looking mad? and upset while looking at the game? That was really just a funny face she was making during the game.  lol, we were all laughing looking at the camera and how she really looked like she was upset and crying!

May 2013 (5)

In the morning Maliyah and Raegan even made the breakfast outside!  Also pictured are the flowers that Duck got for me mothers Day weekend.  We’ve done flowers a little bit here and there, but this time he went a little extra for me and for the first time I actually thought my yard looked pretty! too much it froze over two weeks later and KILLED everything!

May 2013 (6)

This year we had our POsitive Notes recital at a Park instead of the Library. The library has been GREAT to let us use their facilities, but it was a beautiful spring, we were singing take me out to the Ball game and really wanted to have fun with it. So that was our theme! We actually set up RIGHT in the Baseball diamond at a park (a grass covered one), and for our refreshments had peanuts, popcorn, candy and Juice Boxes!  I got each kid a plastic bat and ball set from the $ store and after the recital any families that wanted to stay and play a little ball was welcome! It turned out so much fun and it was such a beautiful night, I think we’ll do it more often!~  I didn’t end up getting a group shot or any of the actual recital.

May Cont…again {Kyson’s Baptism!}

ON our way home from New Mexico (well on our way to Utah) we stopped by 4 corners. We weren’t sure if we would ever get the chance again so we did. Well, the kid really could have cared less. I guess it would have helped if I would have given them a little geography lesson before hand, but by the time we got there, it was too late. There was no interest in anything, but buying something from the many vendors that were there.  I was able to get Maliyah to at least come down on ‘the spot’ and Emma copied her.
May 2013 (13)
Once in Utah we spent a couple days at Duck’s parents house. WE had a tiny birthday celebration, and of course enjoyed swimming with Grandpa, as always!

Kyson got a new Remote Control car from them, so bright and early the next morning, first thing kids did was head outside with the car….Jammies and all!  THE best picture of the trip?  Savannah Sneezing a snot bubble and I just happened to catch it!
May 2013 (14)
LIke I mentioned before, this trip was our Family Vacation for the year, so we wanted to make sure and take advantage of this time with Duck and fill it doing fun things.  A couple things we did while staying at the Duckworths was visiting the Dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point, and the Church History Museum.

The best event of the trip though, had to be Kyson’s Baptism.  He is such a neat kid, and it was a really spiritual baptism. He definitely has a sweet spot for the spirit and really recognizes it.  I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful son!

Our Sweet and Adorable Friends the McAllister Family! (Oh how we miss them!)
THe White Treat!  The funny story about our refreshments?  While we were setting up for everything there were some kids playing outside and riding bikes. During the Baptism My sister went out in the hall to get Emma and she caught those boys shoving their pockets and mouths with handfulls of our refreshments!  She told me she chased them down and scolded them and made them hand back everything!  Lol, I was quite humored when she told me and figured that they got punishment enough!  Luckily we made lots and they saved some for us.

One last thing we did do before Duck went home was take the kids to Lagoon.  Oh my gosh that was so fun!  We arranged for my parents to have the little girls halfway through the day. so we did all the kiddie rides in the morning and then the bigger rides later.  Both my sisters joined us and we had a blast!  It’s been so long since I’ve been able to just ride roller coasters and thrilling rides! Maliyah and Jayden are definitely my dare devils, but mostly Maliyah.  We stayed until the park closed.  It was a perfect day! (minus getting TOTALLY soaked on Rattle Snake Rapids)

Kyson’s Baptism {Project.12 | Water}

As I was contemplating what I wanted to photograph for this month’s Project.12 theme, my thoughts immediately went to my almost 8 year old son and his upcoming Baptism.  We are member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and believe in Baptism by immersion in water.  So right away I connected water with his Baptism.  So although there is NO water in these pictures, knowing they were for his Baptism invitations immediately made me think of water!

This is my favorite.  This kid has such a big heart, is so kind and is such a good big brother.  He loves entertaining his little sisters and can make them soooo happy!  He still lets his mom give him huge hugs and kisses anytime, and anywhere. He loves to be mom’s helper and yet would spend every minute with his Dad if he could!

The sweetness in these pictures really represent him well.  Yes he is a normal 7 year old, but he sure tries hard to make right choices and prepare for his Baptism.  I’m so proud of you Kyson!

Kyson's 7 yr pictures {photography}

Kyson. I can't belive he is 7. He is such a big kid...so I should believe it, but it's wierd to think he will be in 2nd grade this next year!

Kyson is such a special kids. He has some issues with Anxiety that make lots of things difficult for him, but he also, when in the right mind, can be so dedicated, determined, and loving!  He loves to make other people happy and laugh.  He is always giving me and other hugs, kisses and he loves to snuggle up with mom to a good book.

Just this week we went on a bike ride and even though riding without his training wheels proved to cause some stress during our walk, when we were home he didn't give up and he got back on and showed Dad how good he is.  I'm so proud of him for trying over and over and over again until he got it!

He is so great with his school. We have to be really patient when we come across a difficult concept, but he gets so focused and is always so dedicated to completing his work.  I love his happy smile, his loving words, and his smiling eyes!

Kyson can't wait to turn 8 so he can be baptized.  I'm so glad that he loves the Church and his Father in Heaven.

This is Kyson.  Always giving people thumbs up!  He's a great encourager!

Ky, you are my most favorite 7 year old EVER! I love you!

Dates, BBQ's and BABIES!

The Young Women in our Ward were having their Fundraiser this Saturday and although I couldn't make it, I signed up to make a dessert for their dessert Auction.  It's one of my favorite treats (when I'm watching my calories), White Chocolate Popcorn. We tried to color the popcorn in the Young Women Value Colors.  The red turned out more pink (despite how much coloring we put in) and then white just didn't stay very white (the popcorn was micro with butter already in it) but I know it's yummy and still turned out pretty cute!  I found the veggie trays at Wally's on clearance and even though I didn't necessarily need the different sections, I figured it left someone with a fun little tray to keep!

The first Saturday of the Month is usually when we schedule dates with the kids. This Particular Saturday was VERY busy and we weren't sure if it was going to fit in, but we forgot about it last month and the kids were counting on it, so we squeezed them in! Duck took Jayden to his work to ride the forklift (Jayden's request), Maliyah went shopping with Dad (also her request) and Jayden and I went on a hike and water gun fight! I did have to kinda trick him into this one, but when I knew I wouldn't make it to the GYM, this was one way to get in a little exercise AND my date!  It was really fun, he was a great hiker, and totally soaked me with his water gun.

A more panoramic view of Klamath Falls.  I should have pointed it out, but you can see my house in this picture!

We spent the rest of the afternoon with these two little cuties! They are my friends Foster kids and Maliyah is just in love. Okay okay so am I!  I can't help it...they are too cute!

He was mad because he couldn't get the little 'cars' flip phone open and I wouldn't help him unless he said please. I'm mean like that.

That evening I was supposed to take Maliyah's 8 1/2 yr pictures, but we got invited to a last minute BBQ Birthday so we didn't have enough time for pictures.  I'll have to see if I can pull it off tomorrow although today would have been perfect becuase it's cloudy!  There's just too much going on today. I have to play the piano at Seminary Graduation in an hour, then we have the missionaries and a new family in the ward coming over for dinner.  Then starts a SUPER busy week for me...but I'll for sure squeeze her pictures in. Jayden's 4 1/2 ones too!

Happy Birthday Kyson!

Ky turned 7 this week! He was so excited to be one year older and is already looking forward to his next birthday when he will get Baptized!

Wednesday was his actual birthday which we celebrated with decorations, super nice-ness, cupcakes for his tball team, and a date night with mom! But since Daddy was out of town we waited until Friday to have our BIG celebrations!  Friday morning Ky chose Denny's for his special breakfast. What a fun idea! Duck met us there....we just might have to that again!

It was our Friday fun Day for school so we went to the Library, Subway for Lunch and picked up our Ceramics that we made a few weeks ago. I forgot to take pictures but I'll try to remember for next week!

This year is our 'no-friends' party year so we just had a family birthday party planned with Homemade pizza, homemade rootbeer, games, presents, more games and a late movie night!  We did break the rules a little bit and invited a friend over.  Just not the kind of friend Ky would have probably preferred!  Tonia is a friend from the ward and her husband and teen daughter were out of town so I took pity.  ;)  She fosters three little kids, 27 mo. 22 mo. and 13 mo.  She is a busy lady!  They are the cutest little things though and I loved having them over! Hopefully Ky did too.
