May Cont… {Day with Amy Photography Workshop & Retreat}

  By the way, my attempt at catching up is to only get May done, and that’s not including our HUGE family reunion we had in New Mexico. I’m not quite done with all those photo’s, that might be a days’ blog post all by itself cause I have so many pictures.

MOthers Day this year was wonderful. All the things you hope for as a mom, to sleep in, to not have to do the cooking or cleaning and to just be able to hang out with your kids and enjoy them! And that’s exactly what we did.   When the kids asked what I wanted to do for Mothers Day, I told them I wanted to make a summer wreath!  We used Yarn, which isn’t really summery, but it’s a colorful wreath I can put out and enjoy!

Getting a picture with my kiddo’s is also a HUGE bonus!

(the other pic is of the Camera Straps that the kids helped me make for all the gals coming to my house for the PRO photography Retreat that was that next week!)
 May 2013 (8)

For a few reasons, one huge one being the PHotography retreat being held at my house, I did a little cleaning up and decorating.  Since we have lived here I hadn’t really done much in my bathroom. It was really blah. I had this darling picture I made for my dad for Christmas of all the grandkids (a collage) and because the lab messed and mailed it to me when they were supposed to have it done for pickup, I got an extra one for free!  The bathroom was the perfect place to put that colorful image, so we did a bit of painting to brighten things up, added another canvas of my kids and one other colorful picture of Emma in her raincoat and I LOVED it!

(oh and added a few touches to the laundry room too)

The PRO Photography Retreat, and Day with Amy workshop that I hosted were both fabulous!  Having these ladies stay at my house was so much fun. Duck was amazing as always and took the kids away to the coast for three days so we could make it happen.  I cannot WAIT to share all about it, but that’s also going to have to be a post all of it’s own. I’m almost done with the editing of our sessions we did that week and then I’ll share that one. In the mean time here are just a couple from my house and one from the Day workshop that we held in a conference room at the Holiday Inn.

After duck got home, and all the workshop stuff was done and our company left town, we needed some family time, so we took the kids out to the park to fly kites.  I LOVE flying kites, but even more I love watching my kids try!  It’s so funny!

Pictured below:
Nanna sad because Emma kicked the ball when it was her turn…then she finally got a turn and was happy again.

I LOVE this picture!  I had fun just playing around with my camera, and took a TON of pictures, but i love this one because Duck really is such a great Dad. He isn’t perfect, but he is perfect for our kids and for me and I LOVE it!

Ending a great month

April was a great month.  We had some good school weeks, a great trip to Corvallis (which included some super fun times!), a couple fun Friday’s, many amazing dates with my amazing hubby….definitely great.

May is in full swing. It’s a month I’ve been looking forward to AND dreading at the same time, for months.  It’s going to be my busy month this year. And if you already know how busy I am regularly, then you can just imagine then what a BUSY month will be like.  I look foward to it because Amy Earle of  Simply B Photo’s is coming out from Florida to teach a couple photography workshops. I’m totally stoked for what I will learn and how I will grow from this.

I’m super excited because of our Family Reunion for my Grandma’s 90th birthday. I LOVE my cousins and am so excited to see them.  I’m also excited about my POsitive Notes recital this weekend because instead of our typical formal recital, we are having it at a Ball Park because our theme is Take me out to the ball game!!  That will be fun.

What I’ve been dreading?  The busy that all these things create.  (I’m not even going to mess with all the other ‘stuff’ I wanted to do this month).  BUT, I’m trying to stay organized, fit in all the necessities first (like time and attention for and to my kids) and then see how much I can get done after that.  Pray for my sanity.

Onto pictures

Last weekend one of our three freezers stopped working.  Unfortunately we didn’t catch it soon enough and most of the food was thawing.  Some of the food we needed to use right away, so dinner Sunday night was PIzza Rolls and Shrimp.  Lots of shrimp.  But because Duck and I are selfish, and only care about our health and not that of our kids (totally kidding there)  the kids got the pizza rolls, and we got the shrimp? Fair?  We thought so, but once dinner was served up…the kids didn’t quite agree.

What would you prefer?

OKay, more collages. I love that they are quick and load faster so here they are.

Emma snarfing town the cheeto puffs at Ky’s baseball game. It was windy, and freezing….good thing we had those cheeto’s or else the girls would have been pretty crabby!

Took some newborn pictures of my friends baby, and her mom and Aunt were visiting from Japan. They don’t speak English. BUT that didn’t stop my girls from making best friends with them.  Emma sat reading books with them nearly the whole time we were taking pictures!

Then last in this group, Maliyah’s good friends Ashlyn & Morgan were Baptized yesterday. It was a beautiful service for two amazing little girls.

Last, but certainly not least…it was Maddie’s birthday party yesterday! Yup, she turned one this week and Joann threw a super fun carnival birthday party.  I had to leave in the middle with Maliyah to go to the Baptism, but I got back just in time to snatch these pics of her after smashing her cake!  She is just a doll, as cute as ever!

maddie's birthday

The kids were thoroughly entertained by the bounce house and obstacle course and we stayed for a few hours!  There was a lady to paint faces, she has fish in bowls for party favors, AND pictures of maddie in frames! (the last picture in this post)

I laugh at all these pictures because the kids are hot, sweaty and their hair all got a great workout! lol

Collages

OH yeah, and a bubble Machine. It’s the same one we used for Emma’s party and I love it…so much fun!

Both the girls were pro balloon punchers!

And here's the pic that JoAnn gave as a party favor to everybody.  I finally finished editing the rest of this session and can't wait to share the rest!  Hopefully next week I'll have time.

This girls eyes and dark hair just KILL me! she is so pretty.  I constructed the Hot cocoa Stand below for her 5 year pictures, but this ended up being one of my faves because of her eyes!

Took a few of Janah while we were doing Taylors pictures.  She was jumping on the trampoline before this so her cheeks were all nice and rosy!

This was too cute! Just took some family picture of after baby and can’t wait to finish them.

This sweet little gal is the new daughter of the lovely momma above!  I needed to test out this pouch for the lady I ordered it from, and I was lucky to get two adorable models!

Here are a few Seniors from this last Fall.

Cassy’s were my favorite…I think because she’s a girl. Can I say that? You can just be so much more creative with a girl and it was fun!  Plus I’m friends with her mom and had fun throwing her in the mix.

Met this darling family through another client.  It was one of my mini sessions and their little guy was so great we were able to get some great photo’s in a short amount of time!

The 'Other' Davis Family {Klamath Falls Family Photographer}

These guys are only one of my most favorite families ever!  They were some of the first friends we made when we moved here 6 years ago and it’s been so fun to share raising our families together!  Love love LOVE this family.

This beauty is my daughters best friend. She is sweet, thoughtful, caring and loves her brothers and sisters.

This is Jilli.  The other day I asked my Savannah who her favorite friend is. Even after not seeing eachother for quite a while, she didn’t even have to think and she excitedly shouted “Jilli!”

Kalyn {KFalls Baby Photographer}

Kalyn’s family is in our ward and have been friends of ours since we moved here. Her Dad played baseball with Duck’s brother at SUU, so that gave reason for friendship right off the bat! (no pun intended)
Her mom wanted to get some pictures in her blessing dress that Grandma made.  Isn’t it beautiful!?

Then we took it outside for a few other fun shots.  She was sooo good and we were totally shocked when we sat her in the cup and she just chilled there.  I can’t imagine that thing is comfortable, but every baby I’ve put in it, has been completely cooperative!

Luke {child photographer}

Luke is such a funny kid.  He loves to be constantly on the move.  With that being said, he was perfect for these pictures!  I told mom to bring a toy that tells about him,  and we just had fun with it!
