Father Day | Family Time

Since we were traveling in Utah for Ky’s birthday, he had to wait to get his ‘big’ birthday gift.  I think the pictures speak for themselves…..later that Day Duck took Ky out golfing. He. Loved. It.

 

That morning though, we took the whole family up to the Praise in the Park. It’s a large event that a local church puts on yearly.  They have all kinds of free events, and booths that people set up for all kinds of reasons.  The kids’ fav part was by far the bouncy house, but the Ambulance and Emergency Helicopter sure came in a close 2nd!





They had princes and knights, dressing the kids up, telling stories and taking pictures of kids in this beautiful carriage.  (top right images are the kids getting tatoo’s)

 

The next day was Fathers Day!  We love Fathers Day,  Mothers Day,  and birthdays around here. Any excuse for the kids to scrounge the house for things to wrap up as gifts is a hit.  We also worked together to make Dad a special gift to wear at church.



Tie tacs, with pictures of his very own beloved children.  We made them with Shrinky Dinks and after a few tries we finally got the hang of it and made them work!  Let’s just say, he had a tie full.  We also made tie tacs for the kids. A pic of Duck’s head that said the Best Dad EVER.  Lol, it was a bit of a humorous picture, the kids got a kick out of it.  Below are the images we used on their tie tacs for dad.








Dad’s choice for Dessert.  Emma…yeah. She loved it.  I think I have about 30 pictures of her eating her pie. She cracks me up.

Weekly Update 6-14 through 6-21-09 (and fathers Day!)

We had such a fun week this week with so many adventures! Prepare yourself before starting! This is a long weekly update with a TON of pictures! But lots of fun too, so if you want to take the time, take a look! (hopefully all my family is still continuing on since I do this for you!)

As many of you know we were supposed to be on a trip to New Mexico this week to visit my Grandma. I wanted to do it before baby came and while she still lived there. She lives in the same house that my dad grew up in and that I grew up playing in and I wanted to share all those special memories with my kids. Unfortunate things happened at Duck’s work which required him to remain here. It was really disappointing for all of us as this was our one Family vacation this year and the kids were SOOO looking forward to this trip with Daddy. We were also going to stop in Layton and Salt Lake on the way back to visit family and be there for the blessing of my niece Olivia. It took a lot to finally accept that we weren’t going, but once I did, I needed to plan something else!

Duck still of course couldn’t take time off, but I needed to get out of here, so I planned a camping trip for me and the kids for the first half of the week, then one for the family for the second half of the week. I had all kinds of things planned, fun activities in the Medford area where we were camping and it really gave us something to look forward to. And now to look back on! It was a lot of work, but soooo worth it and so much fun! Like the lady said that was camping near me, my kids will never forget this camping trip with JUST mom. (and I won’t let them forget it either!)

Read on to see the fun we had the good times spent together. I’m still sad we weren’t able to see my grandma and just hope that we can try to make the trip another time soon.

Today is also father day, so something I rarely do is include pictures in my first update post, but I want to quickly just add some of today and share with you all what a wonderful dad my kids have! He is really great, works so hard, love his family, and really pulls his weight in this family which I really appreciate. I’m so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man.

Then next to my dad, I’m so lucky to be daughter to such a wonderful man! Thanks for being such a great example to me my whole life! Happy Father day all you Fathers out there!

A closer picture of Duck's first Fathers Day gift. We really needed to update the kids' pictures at his office and so instead of just giving him prints to put in the frames like normal, we put a little twist on the photo giving and mounted them on blocks.

Happy Fathers Day Duck!!

Fathers Day was a little crazy because we had just gotten back from Driving all night from Utah, and having a full Saturday, but I was determined to not let that, or being in the primary presidency get in the way! So to make sure that Duck could still sleep in, not have to worry about kids, or do dishes, I didn't plan any meetings or visits, stayed up late Saturday night and got up way too early Sunday morning to have everything in order. I wasn't still completely unpacked from the trip, but I did my best! WE had a great breakfast....all of Duck's favorites, then enjoyed nice long naps in the afternoon. We had a wonderful dinner then gave Duck his gifts. A fishing book...duh, then Maliyah and I had made him a box. A daddy box, for his wallet, phone, pocket knife....all those things that he never quite knows where to put....they now have a box! It's perfect, I like the way it looks, and MOST of the time he uses it!

The rest of these pictures are just from the day, Jayden of course and his cute smiles, Maliyah with Duck from giving his fathers day gifts, flowers picked from our yard for a fathers day bouquet....kyson riding blackie, and then a picture with an elder that was leaving the area.




Elder little...he was sad to leave Klamath Falls, only had 6 weeks left on his mission and was pretty sure they wouldn't transfer him for just 6 weeks, so when they did he was pretty disspointed!
