Savannah {Project.12 | Windows & Doors}

This months theme for Project.12, was Windows and Doors.  I had a great plan in mind.  I mean, we live in Klamath, home of one of the biggest manufactures of Windows and doors!  Well, that didn’t work out. But I think I love what I got even more, because the background is more personal.

Our big kids have been taking swim for years.  YEARS.  They are required to swim across the pool before they can sign up for any other extra activities.  This took a little longer for some kids than others, but they are getting there.

As the kids would take swim lessons, they would all wait at this window until it was time for their lesson.    Savannah often would stand there looking through the window with them, but she was always left behind to go to the child watch.  This girl loves the water and I know she just watched….wishing she could go be with them! (and often this was manifested through more than just looking!)

Until last week.  Savannah finally got to start swim lessons for the first time.  I haven’t had a child so excited for swim lessons!  Usually after they get started, fear starts to set in a bit before each lesson.  But not Savannah.

She gets giddy when I mention swim.

And even after 30 minutes of freezing her tooshie off, she always begs to stay and swim more!

I just had to throw in this one of Jayden.  This kid is a crack up in swim. He beats the water (literally) and is all over the place.  Today he finally swam across the pool and the first thing he says as he gets out to sit on the side?  “mom, can I sign up for tball now?”  Love that kid!

Back to Savannah, cause really this post is all about her right?.  At the end of each lesson the kids get the chance to jump off the diving board.  It’s a low board, but to a 3 year old I’m sure it seems awful high and scary!  Savannah has yet to jump off. Usually she needs help walking up to the end to practice showing teacher her toes.

DSC_0400xxxs

Today though…she did it all by herself!  She bravely walked right up, showed teacher her toes then asked to jump off the side. (teacher lets them jump off the side as long as they show their toes).  It won’t be long before she surprises us all and jumps off!

I love this little girl.  She has such a tender heart, a fun personality and loves making her family happy.  I’m excited for this new door in her life to open!  I have a feeling she’ll be swimming before we know it!

It’s been a LONG time!! {Covering February through mid March}

{although I really tried to limit these posts to just a few favorites pictures, 6 weeks is 6 weeks, and there is a lot.  Enough that instead of having all my posts on one page like I've requested the blog to do...it's put it on two pages. Biggest problem? If at the end of this page you don't select to see past posts...you will miss pictures of the cutest two babies EVER! Not to mention some of my hot hubby and my sweet and sassy 1 year old, so make sure to click back and look at the second page of posts!)

And I’m not going to apologize for slacking, because I haven’t. I have just chosen to spend my time in a different way such as spending 3 weeks in Utah visiting brand new babies, working like crazy on my calling since in one week we had our Stake Activity Day Girls activity, the blue and gold Banquet and the start of our new Combined Scouts  Program starting (which just in itself was hours of work!).  So, there ya have it…my busyness. Now onto the fun stuff!

On Tuesday January 29th I was on my way taking the kids to Swim lessons when I got a text from my sister Janine, telling me she was at a Dr appointment getting an ultrasound and that there is a chance they may have to take the baby early.  Then during swim, it was confirmed. Not only were they going to take the baby early, but it was going to be THAT day!!!    All the sudden I went into panic mode…how fast could I pack and how soon could we leave!

Everything was fine, and the funny part is Janine was WAY more calm than me.  But if it were reversed…I would probably be the same as her.  But I wanted to be there ASAP and had about 1 day to get a LOT of stuff done!

Baby Adelaide was born healthy, wonderful and adorable just 90 minutes after my brother Nate and his wife Dixie had their baby Blake!  YAY!! Twin cousins!  So Wednesday we packed up and Thursday we headed to Utah!

Before I move onto to more about the babies and the trip, I need to finish off February!

The weekend before leaving we had some fun late nights, and friends over for the weekend.  Below are some pics of our fun weekend!

Monkey Brains | The best boys hair product ever. And yes I use it for my girls too.  You can’t get it in stores anymore, so we stocked up from our ebay supplier!

It was Sammie’s Birthday on the 29th so we pulled together a little birthday party.  We had fun making her cake, decorating the house and watching her open her present!  Sure love that little girl!

OKay…onto our trip!  We had a great drive there, and that night, Thursday I got to be at Janines house when she returned from the hospital.   Meet Baby Adelaide.  6 lb 8 oz

I was overdue for some pictures for Savannah and Emma. Over Christmas break Maliyah and I had a sewing day and made these matching skirts. I saved them for these pictures.  Emma 21 months, and Savannah 3 1/2.  My babies are growing up!

Although these pictures were all about the little girls, this was Sunday morning and the boys were all dressed up too, so we included them.  Jayden INSTISTED on getting some done of just him.  He is too funny, and looks way too handsome here!

Savannah and Emma are the funniest cutest little toddlers. They love each other so much, but fight like crazy! I can’t wait to watch them grow up together. I’m so blessed to have them!

And then there was home again…

Jayden was concentration really hard this particular day in school so I just sat there taking pictures of his studiousness….cute kid!

The first Saturday of each month we try to do dates with the kids.  My date with Maliyah was playing soccer at the park then going out for ice cream. We were already dressed for some Baptisms so we just threw on our Tennis Shoes and went to the park all fancy.

Savannah helping me make some cupcakes.  She’s like her mom. Loves chocolate.

I saw these cute little chicks at Walmart and when you hold them, they Peep.  I had to get one. I put him in a little bag and told the kids I had a surprise.  I put my hand in the bag and let him peep.  You should have seen the kids’ faces!  Lol, they love him. His name is squeaky, and they each take turns watching after him for a day.  Squeaky also brought a special treat for each of the kids to make sure he started out on their good side.  Emma got a little over possessive of him the first day, but she has learned to share since.
The kids wondered if this was a test to see if they were responsible enough to keep a pet.  Nope…just thought it would be fun.

Savannah was mad at me about something so went to the corner to pout.  She has the best pouty faces.  By the time I got the camera out…we lost most of it.

Spending some one on one with this funny little girl can be….well…funny!  She CRACKS me up!~

Too bad that night she started puking and didn’t stop till the next morning!  I haven’t had a child that sick (puke, high fever, lethargic) for a really long time. It was soooo sad!  Happy that she is feeling better now….not so happy that she is not ALL the way better so she’s still super crabby, but no longer is satisfied with just sitting in mommy’s lap watching cartoons.
This last Thursday Maliyah and Kyson were gone at Juanita’s house (an elderly lady from church they spend 1-2 afternoons a week with…cleaning her house and playing card games), and both the little girls were sleeping so Jayden and I got a little one on one.  I let him skip quiet time and we made cookies.  I let him do LOTS of the work…including eating ALL The cookie dough he wanted.

Birthdays {Duck & Savannah}

Saturday night we already had planned to have a little water party with the kids, so when our plans changed to celebrate birthdays on Monday, we quickly turned our water party into a birthday party for Duck!  Some good friends of ours are also moving on Monday so we had them join us for dinner and a little fun, as well as having over a new family from our ward.

Water Balloon Fight

If you can't use it, drink it!

For the kids, presents is the most exciting part of birthdays. If I would let them they would find things around the house to wrap all day long!  They make letters, notes, pictures and wrap them up as presents  I finally had to put a stop it so we could get the party going!

Instead of a cake for Duck this year, we made pineapple delight. A Dessert they serve at the Polynesian Cultral Center.  It's peaches and pineapple topped with rainbow sherbet, cool whip then marachino cherries. Oooh it's yummy!

Today we celebrated Savannah's Birthday with just our family.  Savannah LOVES watermelon so we decided to have a watermelon party!  Dinner was Fruit Salad filled with Watermelon!  Pretty much that's all Nanna ate.  I added some leftover chicken on the side....but she could have cared less for that!

The kids of course like usual also helped me go crazy gathering presents.  Even if they are old toys re-wrapped!

Maliyah made all by herself this Watermelon game.  At first Savannah was a little shy about it, but she got over it quick and loved it!  Emma even figured it out.

Next we headed out for a seed spitting contest!

Daddy may have won, but Savannah wins for the best effort!  And I lose for choosing to dress my kids all in white on the day we are having a watermelon party.

Emma just had fun walking around and finding all the leftover watermelon rinds on the ground.

Savannah was super excited about presents.  Yesterday at Duck's party she didn't quite understand why he was opening them and not him, since the kids have really been talking up her party and when she is going to turn three.

This girl LOVES her clothes and shoes!

I got these tents (yes I got more than one ) for $6.00 at Michaels!  Yay!  It was the perfect gift...she loved it!

This was her 'big' gift I got on clearance after Christmas.  And good thing too, it's full of cheap plastic that I don't think is goign to last long.  But she totally got the hang of it and rode it around the backyard all night!

Happy birthday to the funniest, smiliest, best hugger ever!  Even this week we invented the tiny hug and she is a pro at it.  She loves to snort when she laughs...fake burp with the kids and give me hugs all day long. I love that she loves books and to be read to.  She finally talks and has escaped some of her shyness and now others are able to get to know the super funny sweet Savannah that I've known all along.  Love you Nanna!
