WEek updates 7-12 through 7-19 and 7-20 through 7-26-09

I'll try to make this update before the pictures quick as any info really worth reading is with the pictures anyway!

I didn't post last week because mid-week I had dropped my camera and then I was having a hard time downloading my pictures. My card wouldn't read directly from the computer, but even with it in the camera and plugged into the computer it wouldn't read. I assumed something was wrong with the card or camera, although it was working fine otherwise. Well today when it wasn't working again I thought maybe it was my computer. I turned it off, waited awhile...turned it back on, updated a few things....then voila! It worked! So now we have pictures, hurray!

Quick update on me, I'm just about 39 weeks and feeling fine. I have been working really hard to watch what I eat and go walking every day to keep the swelling down. Last weeks appointment I had gained 2 pounds which I wanted to attribute to swelling and water weight since I had a good week eating, but wasn't going to deny I could have made healthier choices. But my assumption was confirmed this weeks appointment when that two pounds went away! I had really made sure to walk every day (it makes a HUGE diff with the swelling) and also watching what I eat and sure enough it helped. My goal initially was to gain no more than 20 pounds, but when I was doing really good I thought I'll raise the bar and make it 15. It might actually happen! If I can keep being good, keep walking, keep the swelling down, I just might be able to keep it to 15 pounds. Currently it's 14, and I have a little more than a week. Just wish me luck!

I'm feeling good and getting enough rest (most of the time!). I'm still keeping up with kids okay and happy that my pregnancy has for the most part gone really well. There are always days I'm super hot, super hormonal, or just plain tired, but over all I can' really complain. I still have a bit to do on my list before baby comes, but we are super excited and just can't wait!

I had a conversation with Maliyah the other night about when she would be coming and had to explain that baby's come on their own time. Although there is a due date she could come earlier or later. I was worried due date was going to come, no baby and Maliyah would be devastated. She took the news really well, but I think mostly because it also opened up the option of baby coming earlier! This week is Duck's birthday and for me to have baby on that day is his birthday wish....we'll see how that works! I'll work really hard on Wednesday, drink some castor oil and all those other things ;) that are supposed to put you in labor! Hopefully next week we will have baby pictures to post!

Baby Max has finally arrived.

Sunday night (I think the date was the 12th ) we had our friends Kimberly and Joey and their little boy Payton over for dinner. Kimberly was due any day for baby to arrive and I figured she might want a break! We have had Cherries coming out of our ears and I thought it would be fun to let Payton have the cherry picking experience too! We all went outside and picked a few.

Kimberly did end up having her baby the next day thank goodness! She was feeling pretty miserable and ready for baby to be here so I was very relieved to hear she had gone into labor!

Tuesday night they were home and ready for visitors so we got to go see baby Max. The kids are all excited for baby to come to our house so it was fun to be able to hold him and get a little bit of a baby fix.

*******Updated insert: For those confused MAx is Kimberlyl's baby. Yes we are having a girl, and yes I'm still pregnant in the picture below. I thought the above three paragraphs explained it plenty, but I guess there was still confusion about who this newly arrived angel was. ********

Before our visit though we had spent the afternoon playing at my friends house for a Pool party. WE were actually there for a very LONG afternoon and the kids were pretty wiped after that. Luckily Jade had a nap before and after and Ky was able to get a little sleep in on the couch.

I LOVE tiny toes!

Turn into wednesday Tackle

Craft Day at the library. Usually I don't care to go to the craft days at the library becuase there are soooo many kids, but we decided to try it and it really wasn't all that bad. There of course was a good crowd, but it was manageable. Jayden got a little impatient sitting around while the kids had fun, but we made it through!

I also finished my Tackle from Tuesday which I didn't post yet because it wasn't finished yet! It was baby's bedding for the crib in my room. I never got around to making it for Jayden so I was very happy to find fabric I loved, got it cheap which I love, and made a very simple pattern for everything which I loved. I love simple if y'all haven't figured that out by now!

Jade playing with my friends baby...he kept tickling his toes and the baby was laughing histerically. It was pretty cute.

Baby Bedding! Yay! I truly love the fabric and love how easy and cute the pillows turned out. The blanket is just two layers, not quilted or anything and just held together by the binding. So easy to make and I loved it!

Interruption - here begins week 2

I am getting confused with my pictures and dates and when we did what so I have to put a mid-week comment to help me see where I'm at! For those who read this blog regularly know I post every week. Well, due to the issues with camera last week I didn't post, so I was totally getting my weeks mixed up and was about to post events that happened last week with this week and I can't do that! There wasn't really tonz more that happened this week that I haven't already mentioned. I haven't really been taking a lot of pictures (although I feel like I just posted a lot!), but I have kinda been lazy! When we go to an event I take advantage of the fact that most people tell me to sit and not do anything, so that's what I do! Therefore, I don't get up and I don't take pictures! Whoopsey! Anyway so on to this week!

Tiny Tackle...but mostly the lake

This week I didn't really Tackle a Tuesday Project. Well I did a few small ones, and I actually got baby's pants made for her take home outfit, but they aren't quite finished, need a little embellishment so I didn't take a picture yet. Plus last week we finished some adirondack chairs earlier than I expected so I'll have to post those as well. Anyway, this Tuesday after finishing my little sewing project I was headed to the GYm for a little walk, then to take the kids swimming when I remembered that our groups of friends were going to the Lake that day. I totally hadn't planned on it but had been wanting to go forever! Just days and weather hadn't cooperated until now, so we quickly packed up we needed for the lake too! Lucky all 3 kids napped on the way up there because we didn't go until noon, which is really late for us to be starting an activity! It worked out well, they played hard, then napped on the way home. For the most part it was relaxing for me and not too hot. I had to really keep an eye on Jade because he is a little water maniac, but he only went under a few times! Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of this day except one of Jade...and it's a wierd face, but just for the sake of documenting the day and proving we were there....here is Jayden!

Whirlwind Wednesday!

Wednesday was a SUPER busy day! WE just had a lot going on, and I amazingly made it through without passing out or falling asleep somewhere random or odd! We started out at the GYM, then went to straight to the Library. They were having a puppet show this day and it was really seriously entertaining! Jayden was even laughing the whole time! I tired to get some good picture, but we were a little too far back...I took some of Jayden though!

We came home for naps which I was hoping to partake of, but then remembered I had a lot of work to do to get ready for two meetings I had that night, so instead I spend 3 1/2 hours on the computer!

I met Duck with the kids at the Dr Office for my 38 week appointment. I had Duck come in with the kids so he could meet this Dr since she was new for us. It was fun as KYson had never heard the baby's heart beat before. Everything is looking fine and I was just happyt o be that much closer to baby coming! We went straight from the Dr to Kyson's t-ball pizza party. Ky had fun playing wtih his team mates and I think they all just enjoyed getting out and going something different as a family.

Shortly after coming home we quickly straightened the house as Duck was having his presidency meeting at the house, while I ran to the church for my two meetings. I got home not too late, but for some reason was dumb and stayed up late watching America's Got Talent. Thanks cambria...you got us hooked!

Enjoy the pictures from the day:

Bad picture, but the best I could get of the puppet show.

Happy 24th of July

For those not in Utah and not aware of it, Friday was Pioneer DAY, the 24th of July and about th biggest celebration in Utah! I miss it so much, but nobody really does anything for it here although we thought about letting the primary kids do a little parade next year. We'll have to see if we are still here then! Anyway, we decided to celebrate a tiny bit and we went outside and let the kids do one sparkler. I know, wahoo, just one, but at the time we got around to it, it was already past bed time and we had already had some other rewards so we kept it simple. Either way it was fun to get out and swirl around some light!

T-ball game #6, last of the season

Yesterday morning we had Kyson's last T-ball game. He really has come a long way since the beginning and really started to enjoy the company of the other boys and participating. He always seemed to do better at practices, but for the most part he still seemed to have fun at the games.

The line-up! I started bringing these little chairs to help the boys stay put while they were waiting for their turn to bat. Worked wonderful and really helped the coach keep track of whose turn was next. We also ended up painting a mat with feet on it to help the kids remember where to put their feet for the right stance. I have a feeling Duck is going to volunteer to coach next year! And this game he actually ended up pitching because the assitant coach couldnt' be there and the coach hates to do the pitching. Duck was HAPPY for the opportunity!

Little man is a bowler!

WE had a full and busy day yesterday among which was bowling, pictures below.

After Kyson's t-ball game I mentioned to Duck about doing some kind of family activity since him and Kyson were ditching us to go to some car races wtih some friends. We drove around until we decided we would go bowling. We show up to the alley and they don't open until 11:00, since we had been out for a 9:00 t-ball game...it was still just after 10! So we drove around trying to come up with something else to do, stopped by the rainbow store (grocery outlet) for some treats and finally decided to just go back and wait for bowling to open.

The kids LOVE bowling and I had forgotten that for the summer kids can bowl for $1.00, so it only cost #3.00 to go! Yay! We also got lunch while we were there and tried to make a morning activity of it. Still it didn't take more than an hour, but the kids had a blast. While there our friends called and invited us to join us for bbq-ing and water play at their house. It was a rough time, but we decided to go anyway. Luckily Jayden took a nap at their house. The other two can make it through okay, but Jayden would dye and pretty much be a pill without his naps!

We had a fun afternoon just relaxing, talking and playing with friends. Shortly after we got home Duck and Ky got to head out for the races so it was just me, Maliyah and Jayden. We watched Charlotte's Web, had Raspberry sherbet and I sent them off to bed early! It was then that the thoughts of labor came into my mind. What if I went into labor right now, what would I have to get ready? Well let's just say I was not prepared! I spent the little while making my packing list, birthing plan and list of what I still want to get done before labor begins! It was good, but at the same time really opened my eyes to how I'm not quite ready for labor to happen yet! Totally ready for Savannah to be here, not ready to spend a couple days in the hospital, for company to be at my house, and to bling out my baby. HOw pathetic is it that I have yet to make one bow or piece of Jewelry for my baby yet? I'm disspointing I know....I have saved Maliyah's things, but poor baby needs to have a little sumthin of her own! I'm going to be busy the next couple of days!

Jayden has totally gotten the hang of bowling. He can carry the 6 and 8 pound ball on his own and just is totally in control when it's his turn. It cracks me up for how young he is! I had to really keep an eye on him that he wasn't rolling balls down other lanes!

I almost forgot. A little over a week ago when I was leaving early morning for the GYM I saw an animal jump down from the corner of our fence. I stopped the car and watched for a minute thinking maybe it was a racoon, but then saw three other little somethings jump down as well. Immediately I thought they were cats, great we have cats living in our wood pile. I mentioned it to Duck but since then neither of us had seen a cat around so I blew it off thinking they were just passing through.

Well yesterday Duck mentioned that he saw some cats and kittens as well and they probably were living near our yard.

This morning proved it. Duck opened the blinds to the back yard and sleeping in the middle of our yard were some cats. I quickly grabbed the camera and although we tried to open the door quietly they were fast. Officially there is momma and four kittens. I don't even know where to start thinking of what to do with them. We can't have pets and Duck swears he is allergic to cats so if we WERE to have a pet, it WOULDN'T be a cat, and certainly not 5 of them....so we gotta come up with something.
