Enjoying baby and everything else!

When we arrived in Utah a couple of my kids has sniffly noses so we held out for a long time letting kids hold or touch the baby.  I’m talking ALL kids, even Janines kids hardly got to hold or touch her!  Finally after about 2 weeks my kids got their first chance to hold little Adelaide.  Oh how they were in heaven!

  

She was chillin’ while Janine and I were decorating the nursery.



On the 11th we enjoyed a Family Home Evening at Austin and Emma’s apartment.  It was so fun to where they were living and the kids LOVED being there with them!  We had a great time, thanks for letting us take over your home!



Playing Pictionary for our Game



Tuesday the 12th we got to have a playdate with my friend Carrie and her kids.  Carrie and I have been friends for…well forever.  They just moved back here (into the same ward we grew up in!) from Chicago. Although I’ll miss my trips to Chicago, I LOVE that we will be able to see eachother more often and enjoy watching eachothers kids grow up. We sure had a great time spending the morning with them!

   

OH my goodness, this cute little thing was sleeping nearly the whole visit…but we LOVED enjoying her once she woke up!!



While we were there the kids and I had a pretty good morning routine going.  We had groceries down in the kitchenette and were able to just do our own thing down stairs.  Chores, getting ready for the day, school, breakfast and snacks.  We focused on getting everything we needed to do done early so that the rest of the day could be helping Janine and her family.  I don’t know how much of a help we were, but the kids sure enjoyed being able to see eachother every day! 

The hardest part of our schedule though was that the kids got kinda bored. We got done with everything so early and then Janine’s boys were in school till after 3.  Finally one afternoon the kids inquired about playing with the neighbor kids and we were able to make it work out. The boys had a blast playing outside in the snow, and the girls went downstairs to paint fingernails.

Utah Trip Cont….

Emma learned how to get out of the porta crib. One day I spent 1/2 hour putting her back about 20 times, finally I just stood at the door watching her until she fell asleep.  She woke up 1/2 hour later and I put her on the bed and watched her again till she fell asleep. Little stinker.  If she weren’t just so dang cute…..



Although we didn’t make huge plans for Valentines, we did do a few valentine-y activities and had a good time with Grandma, Grandpa and Janine’s family.

Yes, Janine did just barely have a baby and look this great, all dressed up and in makeup.  Oh and we just got hair cuts together. 






And yes, this is me…still in my pj’s, no makeup and didn’t touch that newly cut hair.  Hmmmm…..we’ll keep this image small.






Friday the 15th I got a surprising phone call. It was my brother Jaron and he was inviting me to join him and his family for dinner that night. Each weekend they drive from Dayton Idaho, to Primary Childrens in Salt Lake for their son Jacon’s infusion.  They have food vouchers and hotel paid for (his infusion lasts about 7 hours). 

I rarely get to spend time with this darling family so I was honored to have been able to not only have dinner with them…but without my own 5 distractions(3 were spending the night with gma and gpa Duck and the other two with a sitter)!  I LOVED spending every moment focusing on these darling three boys. Oh how I LOVE them!!! (and all their famous Daves messy goodness!)






Yes, Lil’ Johns hair and eyes are for real.  This little guy just stole my heart!!!




Oh, and to die for lashes.



That night I got to spend shopping with CArrie, and then we headed to Janine’s house with Becca to love on baby and work on baby bows  (for carrie’s little sophie) and then nursery decor.  A girls night! Just what I needed!

Baby’s First Bath

This is kind of out of order…well really out of order, but certainly couldn’t be missed.  Adelaides first bath!  I was so excited to be there for this and we even postponed it 20 minutes so grandma could rush the camera over!

When Maliyah found out that both her new little cousins were born on the same day, she quickly exclaimed “Twin Cousins!”  And yes, exactly just that, but they couldn’t be much more different!  Tiny  6lb 8oz Adelaide with her dark Jaundiced Packer complexion, and Blake…although not huge, definitely big in comparison at 8 lb 6 oz and as light and pink as a newborn gets.  Both about as precious as can be though.
She was very happy to see me (oh wait, her eyes are closed)

Valentines DAy!

OH, handsome little Blake!  Found this little Fedora at Crazy 8 and I just couldn’t resist!
 
I love this second one of Nate with Blake.  Nate is such a great Dad.  You haven’t heard me talk much about Dixie and Blake, but that’s because Nate was able to save up his extra time off so he could be home with Dixie.  We were able to have the kids over for a couple sleepovers and that was a blast!
 
Some of these I edited Adelaides skin to match Blakes a little more, but this one I kept pretty close to the same.  It was so funny doing these.  Knowing how to pose them when their size difference is so great and not sure how sleepy they were going to stay was tricky.

Had I known they were both going to sleep so well, I would have posed them more!
