God is a God of Miracles! {Photography}

Just a few things that happened this week while Duck was gone:

Jayden cleaning up where he peed on the Deck. yes...the bush 1 foot away was too hard to reach.  Then later he did it in the Garage. Lazy boy.

Kyson being so diligent with his school! when he really sets his mind to it, he can accomplish so much!

One of SAvannah's favorite things to do while we are doing school.

Friday for our Fun Day I took the kids to Medford.  We went shopping, went out to Olive Garden, MORE shopping (that was at the kids requets by the way!...I train them well), we stopped at the hospital for mini photo shoot (more about that later) and then we went miniature golfing! Now...this is a big deal. We don't have miniature golf in Klamath and often the weather doesn't cooperate to do it when we are in Meford so the kids were stoked. I on the other hand wasn't quite sure how well that was going to go with kids ages 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 and just one parent.  Thank heavens for the baby backpack...Monkey leash...and kids who don't really care if they play the game right or not!

It was a fun week with lots of activities to keep the kids entertained while Dad was gone.  They were in complete meltdown when he left, but thanks for lots of fun and busyness I didn't have to go through that a second time!

I mentioned about a photo shoot at the hospital.  Well a lady here from Klamath had to be life flighted to Medford for an infection. She was 28 weeks along and they had to deliver the baby.  MIraculously Baby is doing great, mom is recovering and her other three kids finally got to go see her this weekend.  I didn't know Jennifer before, but my friend (who also never even met her until this weekend!) was a saint and watched her kids all week!  I new I would be in Medford so I offered to go take pictures of this tiny baby.  I had never been so close to such a tiny baby before in my life.  I thought I would be a mess.  I cried before I even got there just thinking about it! But I really was fine once in the NICU and although a struggle getting the best light and clarity through the glass, I was able to get a few decent shots of precious little Madalyn Josephine.  It blows me away how something so tiny and unprepared for this world, could survive it.  Our Bodies are such miracles and seeing little Mady showed evidence of that.

Most of the time she just lay there with her shallow breathing, but she stretched once and I got it!  So cute.

Oh man if you could see how tiny those little fingers really were!

The nurses hands are a blur because she was moving so much, but I like that this shows a little better how tiny she really is.

Next time I go in there, I'll have to hook them up with some little hats and bows!

I also have to share one other story.  My testimony of the miracles of God and how much we are watched over was so strengthened on Friday.  We were on our way driving home from Medford.  It's about 1 1/2 hours through a mountain and there is very little between there and Klamath.  Half way home I looked at my speed and noticed my Gas light was on. I completely forgot that I needed to fill up before we left.  My heart just stopped and I didn't know what to do.  I don't panic easily.  I try hard to always appear calm and in control, especially in front of my kids. But inside I did panic a bit knowing there wasn't really anywhere to get gas for awhile.  I quickly called Duck (remember he is in New York at this time) and ask if he knows how far I might be from the little market and gas station that's on the way home.  He thought I should be able to make it, but I decided to try the Boat launch at the neaby camping resort to see if they had gas.  It's about a mile in and there wasn't anybody around.  I asked all the kids to say a little prayer that we could find gas.  So I drove back out heading to the little market and lodge. I felt relief when I made it there, but then found out they had no gas.  There was another little market and gas station about a mile further and they were out of gas too.  My options were narrowing quickly and the panic rose a bit more. At this point I had been driving with my gas light on for about 25 minutes.

The guy at the lodge said that there was another little camping resort about 4 miles down this little road and they might have regular gas.  It was my closest option. As I started driving up this little road I called Duck and he thought I should just start driving home until I run out and then see who we could find to come and rescue me!  As I was passing a few little houses, I thought surely these people so far away from everything keep a little gas.  Maybe someone woudl let me buy some off of them? But where to stop?  Would that be safe?  I kept driving looking for a home that looked promising.  Then I saw a sign. It said something like "keep going right this way!"  Then there was another "you are headed the right direction". Then another "We aren't kidding..your almost there!" It was like someone knew I needed something and they were directing me! "You won't want to miss this."  Then another that said something about thread and needles.  They obviously intrigued me enough to keep following. I figured if this was for some kind of business surely they would have gas and I could trust them.  I saw the final sign that indicated I was there and it was a house with a little shop that said "The Quilted Sisters".  They had a big Gas tank outside.  YAY!  I drove in, knocked on the back door and just prayed that some one was there.  The sweetest lady answered and I told her my situation. She was more than willing to give us some gas and after nearly filling me up, refused payment.  I nearly cried.  She was an angel, and we were directed to find her!  She invited me to come and quilt with them any time.  I hugged my angel and drove my sweet children home, after pulling over to offer a prayer of Thanks.  I cried nearly the whole way home.  Not only were we so blessed and watched over, but my children were able to see the power of prayer work in our lives!
