Invitations
These were fun to make and actually pretty easy. I started out with 6" square brown cardstock and red paper. Cut out in the shape of the barn. Then I printed the middle section with the picture and information on white card stock, then folded in and glued on the barn to look like doors. Then I just cut traingles for the front of the door. That probably took the longest since I had to then glue on every little piece, but really the rest of it was super easy!
Food
- Pigs in a Blanket (lil' smokies with dough wrapped)
- Veggies from Jaydens GArden (veggies cut up but layed in rows like a garden)
- chips n' Dip
- Pull apart BBQ beef sandwhiches for Adults
- Deviled Eggs
- Cupcakes for the kids (with farm animal picks we made from the cricut)
- Pig Cake for everybody else. (choco cake with strawberry frosting. The nose is cereal treat and the ears are fondant. Eyes choco chips and nostrils sugar sprinkles)
Tips & tricks I have learned making cakes. Nothing super new or innovative, but maybe helpful to some that can be found here.
Decor
I didn't really decorate a ton for this party, but we had the barn mural and horse set up for picture taking, the sign outside, and then farm toys, books, and puzzles set out.
Games
Singing time with Old MacDonald - pretty self-explainatory
Animal Walk - like a cake walk, but when we stopped and their animal was called they had to make that animal noise. I had to keep the games at a 2 year old level!
Sheep Puppets - Sheep shapes glued on popsicle sticks and the kids got to glue on fuzzy balls
Pig Pen - pink balloons with pig faces....they had to shoo the pigs into the pen by just hitting, not holding the ballooons.
Duck Duck Goose (which we forgot to play, but it had a sign and station just like the rest)
Horse Races - the $ store had stick horses that I got for the horse races.
Actually most of what I used was either from my house or the Dollar store. One of these days I'm going to to a $ Store birthday. I love a challenge and that would be a fun one to share about!
Most of my party ideas from from this website. I look at a few different parties, take from them what I like best or what works for us and for the age group we are intertaining and create OUR party!
