Happy 4th of July!!
Although I felt as though I had taken a million pictures, I didn't take as many as I thought....good for me!
We had a fun day planned this 4th of July and it all started when we had to leave the house @ 7:30 to start the kids' first race ever! It was a 2 mile run/walk hosted by the YMCA. I decided it would be fun to have the kids join us on their bikes. So Thursday night this week we decorated the bikes and the stroller and then Sat morning got all dressed in our red white and blue and went out for a little exercise!
I didn't think it would be very hot @ 8:00 in the morning, but the first half of the race was slightly uphill and in direct sun, so the kids had a really hard time getting through that first mile, but the second half back to the start, was then slightly down hill and all in shade. They did awesome! I nearly had to jog the second half just to keep up! We made the 2 miles in 40 minutes, which considering it probably took 30 just to finish that first half was pretty good!
Before The RAce
Still Happy Faces AFTER the race!
Last year the face painting at the fair wasn't all that impressive, so we went home and did our own. So this year we just started off with our own painting!
After the run we decided to just stay downtown and get good seats for the Parade. I walked around a bit with the kids, got some smoothies, walked through the SAturday Market, then the anticipated Parade was starting! Klamath Parades are about as fabulous as watching the runners from the YMCA head up the street, but the kids LOVED it nonetheless.
Of course Maliyah's favorite Part...the horses!
They handed out these little flags to the kids and Jayden would wave it every time he saw ANYTHING exciting....aka dogs and horses.
Talking to Grandma!
We had some friends join us for the Parade...the more the merrier!
After the Parade we just walked through the street fair. Last year the greatest part of the street fair was the Pony rides, so we had already kinda budgeted and planned on it and guess what? They weren't there this year! Bummer! Luckily Maliyah didn't really remember too much and we were able to leave with them having enjoyed themeselves! (And me completely hot from being in the sun since 8:00 that morning!)
