Camping on the Coast

We were in much need for some family time so we pulled away from Kfalls and went camping! We stayed in the Carl g Washburne State Park near Florence and it was Beautiful!!! I have a ton of picture, but not enough time to post them all. If you are interested in seeing the rest of them just click on any of the pictures below and it will take you to the photobucket folder that contains the rest of the images.

When we were in Hawaii, we bought the kids matching shirts in hopes to take their pictures at the beach.  My intent was for this to be the picture that I blow up huge and put on my wall.  Well due to constant unfortunate events and situations..that didn't happen.  So intead I just watched the kids play with rocks, look for shells and let their toes freeze in the water.

This is Heceta Head Lighthouse Beach/cove...wahtever they call it.  It's a little rockier than many of the beaches I like, but it's a beautiful spot with a great easy hike up to the lighthouse.

Later we went to the beach prepared with swimsuits and although it was a bit windy, it was a fairly warm day and we thoroughly enjoyed the FREEZING water!

This was another beach the next day and I could NOT keep Emma away from the water. She was hilarous! I would lead her away and as soon as I let go of her hand she would chuckle and run right back to the water!

On our way home we stopped at the Butterfly Pavillion in Elkton.  It was a really neat educational place, that was free!  First we visited the butterfly house, then with our personal guide went on to see the caterpillars.

They try to preserve and teach a lot of history there, including a trappers fort which is still in the contruction phase.  One cabin was completed though and we were able to see many of the furs that were traded there.  The kids were pretty interested in this as I don't know that they have really ever seen full animal hides.

This was the trail from our campsite to the beach.  It was an awesome little hike, BEAUTIFUL woods and easy enough to have the stroller.

It's amazing how green it all was...moss growing all over everything, just adding to the depth of color!

This was when Emma was able to run back to the water. Do you see her red marks on her face?  Yeah, well those are from falling out of the stroller when Maliyah took her on a walk.  I don't know the real story as to why she was unbuckled because Duck swears he buckled her in and everybody denies unbuckling her, oh well. Her and the asphalt had a good reunion.  Then the mark on her forehead you can't see?

That would be when she was on Duck's shoulders and he forgot to Duck when he went under a tree branch. Yep....Emma got a little banged up this weekend.  :(
