Coos Bay, Oregon Coast

Last weekend Duck had to go to Coos Bay for work. Since the gas and hotel was going to be paid for, we went along for the ride! The first day/night and then morning it was just me and the kids so we did lots of walking around, checking out downtown and playin' around! Friday while we were waiting for Duck to finish work then meet us we found a ceramic shop and each of the kids got to paint a figure. I didn't get any pictures of that, but the kids LOVED it!

That afternoon we decided so the kids could nap we would just drive North and then hit some sights on the way back. We ended up walking up to and touring this lighthouse and then playing at the beach.. There were other things we wanted to see, but the kids just wanted to stay at the 'sea side' as they call it.

It was about 1/2 mile hike up to the lighthouse, which for some people might not seem far, but for my kids that was a good hike (they have NO endurance!...or motivation, I'm not sure which one).

Jayden was Sooooo FREEZING! But every time Duck would try to get him out to dry off and warm up, he would insist on going back out in the water!

Savannie didn't like the wind at all!

This is the bridge just north of Coos Bay/North Bend. The kids got SO excited driving over it.

This next group of pictures are from the Gardens out on the coast through Charlston. We went last year and I can't remember what they are called now! It's really pretty though.

This first picture is honor of my bro just returned from Japan and then each child picked their favorite flower to have their picture taken with.

Someone actually offered to take a family picture for us....I don't know WHEN that has happened!?

Nearby was also a lookout that has TONZ of sea lions. This time they had some group there volunteering, teaching about the sea lions. They had a telescope and binoculars and step stool for the kids to use which really made it a neat experience for them

Our last Day we spent hours at the beach. The weather still was only in the high 60's and a bit windy, but we were smart this time to bring swim suits and extra clothes. The kids had a blast!

Great pictures. I love Coos Bay and would move back in a heart beat if given the chance. Is the name of the park you are thinking of called, "Shoresacres" The is a wedding there almost every weekend through out the summer. It is beautiful. Yvonne
