Happy Birthday Elder Turner 2-3-09

Our newest Elder had a birthday shortly after arriving, and of course we had to have a little celebration! I usually like to really go all out, getting in touch with the family and finding out all kinds of dirt on the missionary, but since he was so new I didn’t really have time for all that. But I must have been inspired because we had home made pizza for dinner which later I found out was one of his favorites. The kids just love parties, so it was fun for them to help decorate and make the cake. It was Maliyah’s idea to do a Book of Mormon cake, although it really wasn’t quite what I wanted it to be. But I frosted it in like no time flat so really it’s not too bad considering my day that day!

The pizza turned out awesome and we had a fun time singing to him and letting both missionaries open presents.

My kids love frosting (and cake) waaaay too much!

I had to mention this picture because it really was a hilarious moment, and some day Kyson might kill me for this, but oh well! Lately he has been touching his privates a little bit more than normal. And this evening was no different! I try to never bring attention to it knowing it's a normal thing and he'll grow out of it, but I couldn't seem to get a picture without him touching himself! Finally he wasn't so I quickly said 1, 2, 3, cheese and took the picture. Right as we said cheese....he went for it!

Our horribly frosted scripture cake. It's hard to ever feel satisfied about my cakes when I see such amazing cakes by my friend Kitty. See her amazing cakes here.
