Oh what a week. Happy Holidays and happy crazy days! I really always try so hard to keep holiday time simple and fun. And when it comes to the actually Chritmas HOliday season I think I have done well, we really have kept things fairly simple. I'm not even doing Christmas cards until after christmas so that it's one less thing to worry about. But I have still kept way too busy! Primary has really kept me on my toes that's for sure. And although I have tried to keep things simple, there are always others parties, musical programs and lessons that I've gotten roped into. Primary though (other than my family) has really been on the top of the busy list though. had I known how much there was to do for the end of the year and to prepare for the new year, I would have started on my list in July! Honestly! I only have a week and 1/2 to finish what I need to do as we are leaving for Utah the day after christmas and my list is not even half way done! Definitely next year will be a different process.
I have a good new story though: For the past 6 months I have been trying hopelessly to lose weight. I'll lose 8 pounds, gain five, then gain three, then lose 1 then gain, then lose, then gain, then lose. It's awful! So I finally had to do something about it! I got an exercise partner, that was step number one, then I convinced Janine to start a new deal.....we send what we eat to eachother. Writing down everything then emailing it. Although with weight watchers we already write down everything, knowing that she is going to see what I eat, makes me think a lot more about what I'm about to put into my mouth. Since doing that I had lost close to 5 pounds (really close!) when Thanksgiving came. The past four years I have lost weight over Thanksgiving, I had a really great plan, it worked, and thought it would work this time....I hope! I gained 2.5!! I was so frustrated! So I decided the week after I needed to make up for that gain, I was going to do the core weight watcher plan and my goal was to lose 3 pounds. Core is really hard, it's a limited list of foods, all really good for you whole foods, but definitely limits a lot of possiblilies. It was good though, I was good, I really followed it well and only ate when I was hungry and stopped when I was satisfied. Monday night I went in to WW and I had lost 5.5 pounds!!! I was so excited I wanted to cry! It usually takes me 6 weeks to lose five pounds! I figured some of it had to be I didn't really gain what I weighed the weigh in after Thanksgiving, maybe I had a lot of water or something that day, but either way, this now puts me to a total loss of like 7-8 pounds. That's really not all that much, but right now I'm taking anything. On the other hand Janine and my brother Nate have really done well and are an inspiration to me. I love exercising, love healthy food, but events happn and my body hates fat....or should I say loves it! I have such a low metabolism if I'm not trying hard....I gain! It's a pain....but i'll never give up!
Another eventful moment this week was Kyson fell off the table and split his lip on the edge. I think somehow he slipped off his chair, hit his mouth on the edge of the table then fell on the floor upsidedown. Poor kid was so upset it took forever just to calm him down and let him let me not hold him! We sat for probably an hour, singing songs, telling stories and watching TV. Finally I got up to make lunch and by cutting his lunch up in small pieces he almost ate it all so I'm glad he was feeling better. He had even fallen asleep in my lap for awhile! It was really traumatic for him!
last mention then onto pictures. Last night was our date night and we had this date planned for weeks. It was the HOme Builders Association Christmas Dinner that Duck finally gave into and got tickets for us to go. I had a sitter and everything and was planning on being out however long we wanted as the event went until 11:00. Saturday I called the sitter to remind her and confirm them time and had to leave a message. Then after not hearing back I called again. She bailed. She completely forgot about it and had made other plans. To go sledding with some other youth. I was very disspointed especially after remembering that she did a similar thing to my good friend becuase of home work. It's one thing if we were just doing out own thing, dinner, movie, but this was something we paid for and had planned for for weeks! I tried calling other sitters, but there was a youth dance and of course they were all going. I was so bummed! I really had been looking forward to this and of course trying to eat really good and saving my calories all week so I could actually go and enjoy the dinner! Luckily my friend Sara was willing to take the kids. We of course couldn't stay as late but she was awesome, keeping them until 8:30. Jade was freaking out as he was tired and in a different place, sorry Sara! Thanks so much though for taking them, it was a wonderful time to be out with my husband!
Well, I think that's it. Just now trying to pull everything together for christmas and leaving for Utah. I hope you are all having a wonderful HOliday season, and hopefully not as busy as mine! Oh! And it snowed finally! Yea! i love the snow....hate the cold, but love the snow!
