Golly what a week! November really has been, and is going to continue to be a busy month. But with fun things! It just makes it harder to fit in the not so fun things that unfortunately have to be done on a daily basis!
Tuesday was one of our Elders Birthday, Elder Cooley. It's not that often that you get an elder in your area during his birthday, so we wanted to really have fun with it. I had been in contact with his family weeks before the event and of course had signed up to feed them for dinner that night. One of his favorite birthday meals is Enchaladas, and his request for dessert was tre-leche cake, so I figured we would go mexican and have a Fiesta theme! Maliyah of course is a mini me and loves party planning and totally got into helping me with this party. More about that in the post below.
Wednesday wasn't too bad of a day, just had my presidency meeting, but then last minute Duck's boss invited us to dinner with him. He lives near Seattle and isn't here a ton so usually when he is in town he takes us out. He is super nice and the kids like him. It was a littl harder to be ready for my meeting and hav emy house ready and everything ready FOR the metting ready before going to dinner when I was expecting to get most of it done when Duck got home from work, but it worked out fine and made it to my meeting just in time!
Thursday we went to the dentist! I should have taken pictures of Maliyah's teeth just because shs is so into going to the dentist and having clean teeth, which is why I was shocked that she had two cavities!! She is really anal about brushing her teeth (which I still do for them), so either we don't do it enough or I'm a bad tooth brusher! I was so bummed to hear that only because I didn't get my first cavity until I was like 19 or 20!! And my Dad didn't until like 7 years ago or something.....I just was hoping she had the good teeth gene, but I guess not. But! She was awesome at the dentist. This time we let Ky go first thinking that owuld leave less time to worry about being scared. It worked, a little. He did let them do one xtra, which was one more than he would let them do last time! But then instead of starting on his cleaning right away like I suggested, they started on maliyah! So by the time she was done, of course he had convinced himself he didnt' want it done. Oh well. But while Ky was getting his xray done, Maliyah was just giddy and so impatient waiting for her turn! It was soooo funny and the assistants were totally getting a kick o ut of her. She did awesome for her cleaning and exam too and loved wearing the pink glasses they let her borrow! I had a good visit as well and Jade did awesome hanging out in his stroller this whole time!
Jade also this week totally got two more teeth. They had started coming in a few weeks ago, but they are totally prevalent now and he is a chomper!
Jayden has totally mastered the toddling phase of walking. He can now go across the family room and half the kitchen without falling. He totally walks with his arms straight out in front of him. He will now just start walking on his own in stead of us encouraging him, and when he falls he just gets right back up again! He has also started saying uh oh, and ow! For some reason it's the funniest thing to bang heads....against each other, on the floor, with toys, lotion bottles, anything! And when he bangs his head he goes "ow!" Sooo cute. I just have to be careful because at 15 months Kyson started doing that when throwing tantrums and running into the wal head first!
Jaydens final large accomplishment this week......he had his first birthday!! Friday Jade turned one. I can't believe it. Duck had to be gone for the evening so we met up for lunch and this local pizza place, let the kids play games, opened his present and had cake. It was really fun and of course Maliyah had fun looking forward to and helping me plan this little party for our family. More about that in a later post as well!
Friday night I had our Primary Activity. It was really fun, but made for Friday being a busy day! That morning I had to go to set up for the activity, then we had Jaydens little party, then I had to be there by 3:30 for the activity and didn't get home until about 7:00. We had a challenge for our primary as a whole to read 5,000 pages from the Book of Mormon this year. They reached that so this was their Scripture Challenge Pizza party! It was really fun, very successful and went as smoothly as a party for 30 kids ages 3-11 could go! I was anxious though to get home, get the boys to bed and have a late night with maliyah! She always loves having special moments like that and appreciates them so much! She is always saying in the moment how special it is!
well that was super long, so now I'll get on with the events with pictures......
