Pinata Time! 8-2-08

At duck's Birthday Party We of course had a PInata. LIke I mentioned in a previous post, it will probably be my last. Although the thought of paper mache is simple....it takes so long to try! And such a good thing I started a week early because I would have to do a layer on one side, then let it dry over night, then do a layer on the other side, let it dry over night, and do that three times because it's supposed to have three layers! And all keeping this secret, hanging it to dry where Duck won't see! Whew! I don't know if it was worth it! but the kids sure thought so!
Each kid got a few turns to try to hit the pinata, but then Duck got to finish it off. IT was pretty cool when it finally broke open because it flew across the yard! Then off ran the kids!

whah....my hard work!

Ultimately it was a great party, a great time, and wonderful to be able to serve my husband! He was really suprised about the friends coming although he got his suprise about half hour early when Maliyah says" When are my friends going to be here!" She was really good at keeping everything really secret all week until then!

Duck says and seemed to have had a really fabulous time. I was glad to invite his closest friends, those who he actually CHOSES to be around, not those he is around just because they are married to my friends! But I got lucky because I love the wives of his friends! Funny huh?

I don't think I'll be able to top this party for quite awhile, so good thing we had fun and took a lot of pictures. Happy Birthday DUck!!!
